Ok, so today I am sitting in the car at a traffic light and I see these two custom stickers on the back of the car in front of me. One of them reads: “Life is too short to be mad”. The other one of the stickers says: “I hate mean people”. I am thinking to myself which one of these labels came first, the one claiming life is too short to be mad, or the I hate mean people one. They seem to contradict each other, but maybe it is just how I read the custom labels. Maybe they should be seen as complimenting each other. I guess you could read them this way: “I hate mean people” is not nice to say, since “life is too short to be mad”. In any case it gave me something to think about while I was sitting at a traffic light that I thought would never change colors. To buy custom labels and stickers go toFrontier Label

I just saw this article about the Maxthon Web Browser. From what I gather about it, Maxthon offers the compatability of IE with the customization of Firefox. I’m going to try it out and see what it can do. I’ll let you know.

Ever been on the road and needed a phone number, but didn’t want to pay the high cost of calling 411? Well your wish has been answered. Here is a cool little gizmo that I just found. GOOG411. Now you can call 1.800.GOOG411 and get a free directory service. Just another reason why Google is going to take over the world.

This is one of my favorite videos online. I wish that we would have been this creative when I was in school.

Hangin’ out with the Sangl’s April 5, 2007

So last night was First Wednesday at NewSpring. Matthew Barnett, the pastor of the Dream Center in LA spoke and was really encouraging to hear what is going in LA. But then the real fun started. Joe and I were talking after church that he had just put in laminate floors and said it was a breeze. Problem #1. I love fixing things. So when everything was wrapping up at NewSpring, we went over to see Joe, Jenn, and Melea Sangl’s new home. Problem #2. Seeing how good the hardwood’s looked after Joe had done them himself. So after 3+ hours of great conversation with the Sangl’s and seeing their new home, Jennifer and I headed home and discussed putting down the floors myself. So now the question is: Should I put down my own laminate floors?

Storage solution for NewSpring’s creative people.

The Problem:

Our video/visual editors have this sweet 7 TB RAID array that Pink Lloyd made. The only downside is that it has to be connected directly to a machine (similar to a huge external hard drive). Right now it is connected to David Jolley’s (our video director) editing machine. The problem is that when Will or Ken needs to access something from the array, they have to go through David’s machine which in turn slows to a crawl.

The Solution:

Attach the RAID array to it’s own beast of a server so it can handle the file transfers and only the file transfers. My plan is to get an xServe to handle the data process.

Thoughts?
